With the roaring merchandising success of the first two movies of the franchise, Despicable Me and Despicable Me 2, much will be expected from the third installment of the series, Minions – which technically, is the sequel. So much so, the release of the Minions movie was delayed for almost eight months from its original December 19, 2014 release date to July 10 this year in order to accommodate a comprehensive and coordinated marketing campaign by Universal Pictures.
And why wouldn’t it? Just like its predecessors, Minions’ range of merchandising is expected to once again charm the silly out of us! From video games to clothing line and theme park promotions, the icing on the cake will undoubtedly be the Minions range of adorable toys. Minions toys will feature an astounding 850 global toy licensees, compared to only 250 for Despicable Me 2 – a ringing vote of confidence, if one was ever needed.
So what is in store this time around, and can we expect another Fart Blaster? Let’s take a closer look at some of the toys headlining the collection.
